Hey guys I've been looking for a reason that would explain why I only get about 13mpg or around 250 miles per tank in my 2007 tacoma if anyone can help I would appreciate it.

    Here are the Specs

    2007 tacoma v6 4.0
    4x4
    Double cab
    6 foot bed
    265x65x17 tires (street tires atm)
    Magnaflow exhaust
    Almost at 60,000 miles

i have almost the same truck but short bed and stock tires and 35k miles. i don’t have good driving habits either. and i can get like 365 or 370 a tank. oil gets changed ever 5k to 6k when i get it done as soon as i get to when it says to do it and i get a chance.

Check out my build thread (Beginning of Money Pit)

If u use 4x4, u lose gas milage. if u take it over 2000 rpm, bad gas milage. so no lead foot if u want good gas.( i got a 2005 4 door 5 foot bed with 147,590 miles and i get 18 if i drive like a grampa;)

I get about 13-14 but I have a figured mine is because I drive about 15 miles a day to and from work and its mostly city driving. Also get about 225-250 per tank but that could be pushed a lot further, i fill up when the light comes on. Do you do a lot of city driving?

You have the heaviest Tacoma. Driving habits and terrain? Do u need a tune up? Have you changed the plugs recently? Supposed to change them every 30,000. Check air filter and clean maf sensor. Also check your air pressure's. Just some things to think about.

Dang. My old F-150 4x4 5.4 got 15 like clockwork. My Taco 4x4 avgs 20 and I mostly drive in traffic. I just don't floor it like I could afford to when gas was $1.50/gal. I run the low octane stuff too.

Your not alone, I only get 14.5 mpg and this time of year I let my truck warm up some so I'm probably only getting 13.5. I'm always at the gas station, I'm blaming it on hilly West Virginia because I hardly ever exceed the speed limit.

Also im running 285 load range e duratracs with about 38 OSI in them. Thinking about bumping up the pressure, what do you guys run OSI wise in your over sized tires.....Damn you auto correct. Psi.

Some shit I got on craigslist
I feel ya man. I have an 07 and have been getting the same kinda mileage recently. I used to get like 320 if I drove for a while with the light on, now Im pressed to get 275. I change the oil regularly, changed the plugs, and recently went from a URD intake to a stocker. Mileage seemed to change (for the worst) right after I did the plugs; no idea what that could be. I also have a magnaflow exhaust, but like I said, mileage used to be better. Maybe its the cold? Luckily I take a train every day to work so I only fill up every other week.

Fuel economy starts with the right foot. Winter mileage all ways takes a hit even in VA. It costs me close 50 miles per tank but it's often below 0 in the mornings. Warming up your truck before going any where brings your mileage to 0 miles per gallon.
