Ok I love my new tacoma, so awesome. But here are some things that drive me nuts. I know they have been said before but I kinda have to rant.

    1. Seat belt chime: I don't need my truck to tell me when to buckle my seatbelt. I'm a grown adult, I'll do it.

    2. Defrost AC: why can't I choose if ac is on or off when defrosting? I mean really, just let me do it. I'm a grown adult, I can decide.

    3. Fog lights: let me turn them on whenever I please.

    4. DTRL: there really should be a switch for this.

    5. Pair phone while driving: won't let you pair phone when driving. I'm a grown adult, let me do it.

thats all I can think about for now. Haha

    #1, easily fixed.
    #2, less easily fixed.
    #3, semi-easily fixed.
#4, don't have it... but isn't that the point of DTRL's? They're always on?
#5, you only have to pair once, no? I don't have the fancy BT package, I dunno.

Most of your answers are in the 2nd Gen Tips, Mods & More thread.

#1 was surprisingly easy. #2 I haven't done yet, considering it tho. Did #3, love it.

    2) haha another fix

    3) another fix

    4) another fix

    5) you should focus on driving

Most of these can be modded in a couple hours of work, if you study the respective mod threads for them. Seatbelt chime takes 2 minutes, fog lights on anytime mod takes 10 minutes, defroster and DTRL switch mods may take a couple hours.

Complaint #5 I have no answer for though.

Do they have a seat belt chime mod for the 12's? Haven't found anything that's really pretty easy to disable

i know there are the mods. Just had to rant. I am not good with wiring and stuff and am scared to do the mods on some of them.

I hear the seatbelt mod doesn't work for 2012. It has to be dealer fixed.

I am a grown adult, I may not act like it though, haha.

Yes I know seatbelts saves lives. And I've read the stats that DTRL reduces accidents. But its really hard to stalk my girlfriend (she doesn't know it yet) with those bright ass DTRL glaring into the night.

    Removed the damn stickers!
Go back to the dealer and have them order 2 front seat belt extenders. Any size. They're free! Cut off the webbing and stick them in. Problem solved.

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
With my 2011, there is a little plug under the seat, about dead center, and is easily unplugged, seatbelt chime gone! Best part about it is, is that it only disables the driver seatbelt chime and so your passenger is required to wear their belt no matter what, which is what I prefer!

    +1.

The weight sensor probably also helps the computer sort out how hard to deploy ze airbags. I wouldn't unplug things like that...

Most of these are safety issues. Being the grown adult that you are, surely you understand the liabilities. :)

I'm with you on the seatbelt chime.. I wear my seatbelt in the streets.. But when I go out to my buddies land, and we are driving across his private land we don't wear our seat belts. We are on private property and maybe doing 20mph to get where we need, no reason to wear them. The chime bugs me.

All the other stuff there are fixes for and are pretty easy.
