Avid Offroad Light Bar Strength?

ok i really like the avid offroad light bar I have a trd sport and i think it looks great on the truck my question is about its durability or strength. I live in mountains and the odds of me hitting a deer are pretty good so i was wondering if anybody know how well this thing would up to in a collision. I know I should probably get arb, all pro, etc, etc, etc front bumber but dang I really like the way those look!!!

 

Better than nothing I guess but I wouldn't depend on it much. They are great against kamakazes at the mall.

its not a plate bumper, it might not hold up to hitting a deer at freeway speeds, but it will help for sure. its a really strong and well build bar so you never know.

 

Mine has been good, I've pushed cars out of the way and bumped stuff before and its held up fine.

 

nothing is going to come out of a deer strike at high speed undamaged.

I owned one and IMO it's the strongest "bull bar" offered at this point so if you don't want a plate/tube after market bumper its a good choice.

for deer I would think even the avid would be a damage multiplier though

 

Agreed... probably take it's legs out and make a deer missile to shoot through your windshield.

 

Ha that's a stretch, there's a thread on here about a guy that had a BMW pull out in front of him, trying checking that out.

Nice, I was having mine powdercoated when I read that. I knew it was tough but that reinforced my decision to get it
