I currently have a Subaru forester..

But I'd like to do a little bit more of offroading.. and am sick of worrying about head gaskets, and over heating the engine and rear wheel bearings and etc..

I hear 95-2K tacos have rust problems, but I found a 2000 Tacoma xtra cab TRD... It is imported from the US, but toyota canada told me I'd be covered under their warranty....

I am more likely to trade in my 2003 forester for this...

Hopefully I will finally own a toyota soon..!

PS. What is the right value for the truck?

    2000 Extra Cab TRD V6 4x4

it ain't a toyota dealer, they call themselves 'family owned car store'.. anyhow

    they are asking 13800......................... :puke:
which I think is ridiculous, considering it is imported from the US..

I would think nothing over $10,000 USD so $12,800 or so to you. Also I would think that would be full retail, how far down can youi talk them?

Either way good luck and let us know how it goes

It's automatic and I haven't talked to them yet..

It looked like a typical tacoma trd.
I wish to trade straight in.... thinking 03 forester and 00 tacoma have about the same retail..?
    But you never know:S

kbb.com puts it at $10,065 in USD for the full suggested retail that is for all of the options you listed. It sounds like they are trying to get top dollar. Never hurts to call or go there and look at the truck. Particualry if the ones imported from the US would typically command a lower price.

I went on KBB.com, and my vehicle's suggested retail value turns out to be $11,330 whereas, the tacoma's is $10,100..

    Hopefully it all works out!

I got my 03 less than a year ago for $14k OTD. 5 spd xcab V6 TRD with 54k miles on it at the time. It had dent in the FR fender though, so if it didn't it probably would have been about $15k OTD.

Not all 00 tacomas will have a rusted frame. if everyone who had one took advantage of the buyback, you'd think that only the non rusted out frames would be left.

It depends on where the truck lived really. If it was a CA truck or somewhere in the southern US it probably wont have any rust.
