I noticed those while I was getting my BFG AT KO's put on. Not a bad looking tire though.

Reviews on these have been good. Pretty much a highway tread tire made to look tough.

If you do a search there are about a ten threads or so and three with pictures.

On a side not most people see rugged in the title and think right away you are talking about the rugged trails. Then start to state they are junk.

    I did this exact thing.

I would also agree that they're not very aggressive, but still technically a A/T. I think the Dynapro's are cheaper even IIRC and much better looking.

I have the older version and I like it for the "trail" part handles great on or off but for off road I wouldn't get the new ones I think the tires are really soft and wears quickly.

Your thoughts are based on looking at them and thinking they are soft. This would be called a biased thought. If you look at the wear rating from the manufacture they are considered to have a longer wear than the trail version.

The trail version is not going away these are just a new model since the public likes a tough looking tire with nice road manners.

This tire is classed as a highway tread tire not AT, says so right on BFG site.

I ended up with the Hankook dynapro myself mainly due to cost. I did alot of research and no legitimate poor reviews have come up on the Rugged terrains yet.
