Hi, I am looking at buying a used 2007 Tacoma double cab, model # is 7596c. Looks to be in great shape. Can anyone tell me their thoughts. I have never owned a Toyota before, much less a pick up. It has 46000 miles and the dealer wants $23000. Any thoughts. It is automatic heavy tow package. Let me know questions if you have them.
What are your thoughts on this vs a 2008 FJ?

We'll need more details than "model #7596c".

I bought my 2007 Tacoma in 2010 for 16.5 from a dealer. It is an access cab base model, 4cyl. and 5 sp. and had 40,000 miles on it. Not anything fancy, but does fine for what I need, and at a reasonable price.

    .
Welcome to TW Dave, I bought mine with 28k on it for 25,000, since then it has been to Idaho twice and to Seattle once it now has 92k on it, i have worked and played in this truck and it's part of me. I have had ZERO mechanical issues and have only had to upgrade the suspension because the stock rear leafs are weak. I change the oil (synthetic only), every 4k, I am on my second set of plugs, second set of front brake pads, i have changed the differentials and transfer case fluids once so far and drained and refilled the tranny using toyota atf fluid. This is BY FAR, the best vehicle I have ever owned. Not crazy about the MPG's but hey, it's a truck, a very capable truck.

I got an 07 4x4 DC with about 50k on the clock. Got it used with a few scratches here and there so I don't have to worry about it being pretty! But it runs great. W/o knowing all the details, that sounds like a decent deal. The 07 still has the mechanical limited slip, but doesn't have all the array of technology "improvements" that newer models have.

What exactly are you refereeing to? In the market for a tacoma, and am curious about the differences you are talking about.

    .
the later tacomas have back up cameras, A-TRAC (some fancy gizmo for bad condidtions) and a few other things, meh? Don't need it.

Your model that you are looking at, is it a TRD? IF so, is it a Sport or an Off Road?

That may be a bit steep for a 2007. See if its a Off Road package or Sport package or just plain SR5. I does effect the value somewhat. It will say on the bed of truck which package.
