What's the difference in these two kits...

i just want some lift! the only off roading i do is down the the pond or driving in and out of my driveway. getting some tax $$$ soon and need to blow it on something, just want to make sure i'm blowing it on a good something.

yeah, but considering i will be doing mostly highway driving, does that take away any of the suck?

 

x2. Also, one is an Add A Leaf and the Wheeler's one is a leaf block kit, which is the major difference.

Well, if you search on the forum you'll certainly find a few posts from people with spacer lifts who break their shocks in half- the blocks are even worse because it's just putting space between your axel and your leaf spring.

I guess it's like glueing new soles to a pair of running shoes and using them as hiking boots.

 

ok, good analogy. i have searched these freaking forums til i can quote them in my sleep. i've seen the pics of broken shocks, etc. i just want a couple inches on my truck without having to rape my wallet.

 

I don't do much off roading either but I still refused to do a spacer and block lift. Cheapest way to lift and there's a reason it's cheap.

 

Okay, here's one.

 

Honestly, if you're not wheeling at all, the spacer lift will be fine. I'd pay a few extra dollars and at LEAST get the AAL though over the block- I've heard that the ride quality could understandably suck with the blocks, on top of the tendency for it to add to our inclination for axel wrap.

 

saw that pic. i am basically clueless, as you might can tell. drove all around here today looking for a shop that just does trucks. plenty of rice burner shops, but i have no direction for this. kinda getting frustrated at this point.

 

i think i am gonna go w/ the spacers and AALs. if i regret it later, oh well

I would save your money and get Bilsteins all round with a Toytec AAL.

 

Ive had my spacer lift almost a year now and have no complaints.

 

AAL > blocks any day!

 

I bought a spacer/block lift to get my truck up off the tires. I plan to get a coilover/add a leaf kit from Toytec when I get my tax refund. The ride isn't bad, but I do have a clunk in the front end when I go over a bump.

 

i get that clunk too... but the ride quality isn't bad at all...much better than a procomp 3" lift... but after hearing all the complaints Im going to buy 5100 up front with eibach coils, hoping it stays at 3 inch...

 

Pro comp sells a 3" kit that isn't a spacer kit that isn't to expensive

 

thanks. i am prob gonna go w/ this, w/ aal for the rear. want like a 2". like i said earlier, if i screw myself, oh well. i'm not gonna be going nose-first down any huge mountain tops or anything, so i think i'll be good.
