I use Quaker state synthetic 4x4. I really like it, I used Castrol and mobil 1 in the past. I think my engine likes this best. So i've been sticking with it.

Mobile 1, because that's what was in stock when I wanted to switch it to synthetic. It seems to handle the cold winters a little better, truck runs a little smoother when it's cold. Not sure I'd pay extra for it in the summer.

i think amsoil is truly the best oil you can put in your vehicle, but man, they make it so damn difficult to buy!

    http://www.the-best-in-synthetics.com/

i used to run mobil-1, then switched to royal purple. no discernable difference. reading the amsoil info above, i'm not sure i'd continue using royal purple...

i'm beginning to think the guy who said as long as you change your oil regularly, it really doesn't matter which brand you use, or whether you use syn or not, is right.

An AMS oil rep. told me that his oil is far better than most oils (from an overall performance) standard through weather, viscocity, etc etc. But then he told me their is one oil better than all the rest (across the board per se). And the answer was Pennzoil Platinum Synthetic!! Again this was just word of mouth; I used it after that in my GTO and...maybe it was just mental but I could of sworn that my car was running better. And as for my Toyota, I go to the Toyota dealer and use what the factory recommends (mixed something or nother').

    Penzoil or Valvoline full synthetic.

I don't believe in buying a brand (Mobil 1) that also has an "Advanced Fuel Economy" oil, when it's made by a company that sells gasoline...

Correct me if I am wrong but I think Shell owns Pennzoil.Shell sells a lot of gasoline.Valvoline in owned by Ashland oil who at one time sold a lot of gasoline but I don't think they do anymore.QuakerState used to sell gasoline also.Motor Oil must have been more profitable for the companys that sold off the gasoline arm of the company .

Mobil 1 synthetic because you can buy at Walmart which is cheaper then buying it anywhere else.

Anyone remember when Mobil1 was 12.00 per 5qt at walmart? That was only 5-6 years ago too. Now it's closer to 27.

I still use it, especially in the winter. I've missed days of work when my Honda couldn't pump dino oil at -10F but it could turn right over with M1 in there.

I do like the M1 advanced fuel economy in 0w30 in the Taco. On a cold winter morning it cuts fuel use in the first 5 minutes by 20-30 percent according to the UG.

I use Shell Rotella T6 because it's pretty cheap at walmart and works great. Used to run Amsoil all the time, but I think shell is a much easier to get replacement.

Rotella T6- after reading the very good reviews many UOA's on bobisthoilguy, I started using it in my WRX a couple of years ago- no reason to think it wouldn't perform admirably in the Tacoma as well
