I just hope it will take the edge off some ass that decides to hit me at 50 and hopefully reduce damage to my truck. We'll see when and if it happens but I feel better with it. Strangely the truck seems to drive nicer with the little extra weight on the front and that was a pleasant surprise.

Honestly, the only thing it's going to do is cause more damage when it gets pushed back into the front end. the only thing that's going to help is a full replacement bumper that's made from some thick plate.

I believe it will do the opposite of reducing the damage if you got hit by someone doing 50..

Yeah...brush guards have no bracing behind them and just make damage worse...you need an actual plate/toob/hybrid bumper to prevent...

I understand what you're all saying, believe me. I know it's little to no help getting hit at 50 mph with this or even that beauty ARB I want.

For my mall crawling life with an occasional highway trip I figured it would be fine for me. The vertical uprights really do have a ton of straight on strength; if hit on the side I can see how they would bend and I'm willing to live with it.

I also have a single tube bumper that rides 17" off the road (the ankle crusher, I'll call it) that I can install in it's place or take them all off, altogether.

Thank you RJG. I can hardly wait for the flaming I'm gonna get when everyone sees a 3.8 Litre Buick Grand National Turbo V6 sitting between the fenderwells.

Don't they call those brush guards? So basically it will protect you against what? Brush. And that's about it.
