So I traded my car with all the bells and whistles, and now I am back in a basic Toyota, and It is driving me nuts. What brand or unit is the best for syncing with the Iphone? Looking for music and bluetooth hands free calls.
    thanks

I'm enjoying my Pioneer avic-x930bt. I put it in a month ago and really have no complaints. It connects with a cable to my iphone for music, and allows control via the headunit touchscreen. pretty intuitive interface that mimics the iphone's. Has bluetooth for the handsfree calls. Also has built in gps for additional bells and whistles.

From all my research, it's hard to beat Pioneer's features to price ratio for any of their models. the x930bt is on close out most places because the x940bt is coming out.

Most headunits have direct iPod/iPhone control and Bluetooth. Tons of options to say what's best. Depends on what else you want. Single din or double din touchscreen. Do you want navigation do you want the ability to still play CDs since some head units don't even have CD slots anymore( my Kenwood included) and are just for iPod/satellite/USB devices, etc.

Yes, however I have not tried it. I always connect it with the cable to charge.

I'm assuming that he traded his "bells and whistles" vehicle for a basic one, and is looking to do the same for his stereo, I picked up an Alpine IDA-x305s and a bluetooth unit on Craigslist (ableit a very lucky spot on craigslist, especially at $200) and it does all that, and very simply IMO.

Just knowing the matrix that Alpine uses for its headunit model naming, that unit can't be more that $150 with all the install parts... its basic, but at that price its a win.
