Taco52's 01 Budget Build

So this is going to be a very in depth build thread of my truck. I haven't done much yet because I just got the truck but and I am on a tight budget. I will be using this to track all my progress of the truck to make sure I don't forget anything.
Got the truck on 12/31/11. Good way to start the new year. New year new truck.

1/7/12 -Then I took the bald tires off and put the old tires from my mom’s Duramax when we bought it and threw those on. Firestone TransForce AT 275/75/16-

1/7/12 - While taking the picture (Above^^)of the truck with the new tires I decided that the mud flaps had to go. I may put the rear ones back on to preserve my paint and clear coat


The new Firestones looked a lot better than those old firestone Destinations drag slicks.

1/21/12- Then I did the grey wire mod. Love it already


1/28/12- Then I did the “Remove the topper” mod. Not really a fan unless I’m going camping.



Then I did the “Stop the dash from making noise” MOD

Took the taco out four wheeling and was suprised how well the taco performed. But then this happened.

No fan and fan shroud. almost no coolant. and dents in the hood.



But that didnt last long.


Replaced the battery with a hole in the side

Haha i thought i was the only one who had a noisy dash.. I wish it snowed here
Nice truck, and i like it a lot better without the camper top

 

Yeah it looks a lot better without the shell. I find snow more fun to drive in compared to dry roads. Just more fun. The dash gets annoying quick but I got that fixed

 

Yeah i feel your pain. It sucks. But im just greatful for this truck

 

Nice pickup man!! haha my dash makes most of the noise on paved roads every once in a while

 

I live on a gravel road so It got annoying really quick. I love my solution though. It works really well.

Haha it gets annoying. FAST!. Thats why i solved it with some paper

 

Im thinking about throwing at least the rears on. I know i would be pissed if anybody infront of me was shooting rocks. So I might throw the rears back on. I havent decided yet but if i dont want them i could possibly ship them to you.

 

Shit, ill take the driver side front if you are gonna give him the pass. lol

Yeah. The budget sucks. But It is what it is. And im still deciding about putting the flaps back on. But if I want to leave them off i will pm you.

Works like a charm.. It is all quiet and isn't very noticeable. It just takes a piece of paper.

 

ballin on a budget! me too:/ but its all good. i look at some of the nicest LT trucks on here and hope mines that BA hah im just impatient so its frustrating haha but i love my truck!

 

I love my truck. Ive been working like a dog for mod money. Some Goodies are in the near future if everything goes well.

looks good taco. I used to pass Bailey all the time on my way to WSC in Gunnison. Missin the big CO real bad!

 

Its beautiful up here. Small town small world.

 

Nice rig man, ur lucky that fan didnt end up shredding ur radiator! Shit sucks! Build sounds about like mine. Trying to get some decent cash for a sick build. Lookin good...
P.s. ill jump in the band wagon and say my dash rattles too.
