for all you 05-08 guys that are looking to do this, here are a few pics that will hopefully help you out.

here are the holes that you will need to cut out of your tailgate if you want an OEM like install.

here is the harness (PN 82182-04010) installed on my 05 tailgate after i cut the above holes to match.

here is the inside of the tailgate w/ the handle and wiring securely attached. i simply taped the loom to some zip ties and zip tied them to the tailgate.

i'll update w/ some more pics when i run all the wiring if you guys would like.

running the wires was too simple to even take pics. i picked up one of those 5 wire wires (not sure the name) from home depot and ran it from the tailgate to the mirror. then power/ground/signal wire from the truck to mirror...too easy!!

let me know if anyone needs the wire callouts, a member here shared that info and i've made it a google doc for everyone.

not sure exactly what you mean. if you mean finding a plug, you really dont need it. here are the pinouts for the camera, just solder to those lines and you should be good. if i am not giving you what you need, help me understand and i'll see what i can do!

Stupidity was my main trait just there... Just cut off the end of what I have and solder everything! Duh... (not thinking on my part) I am wiring mine to a double din HU though, so I will have to do a few extra things. Black goes to the reverse trigger yeah? I really don't know how to wire this up and was just going to play it by ear when I got there. If you have the know how though, I'll gladly pick your brain for it.

I just finished all the wiring for mine and when I went to test it I'm not getting anything from the mirror. I just ran 4 wires from the camera to the mirror and then for the other 3 wires in the mirror harness: red went to reverse wire by the dead pedal and green and white wires tapped into the matching wires from the compass/temp display. Any idea what I did wrong?

EDIT: my tap into the reverse wire was faulty... works great now
