That's pretty cool. I like that the camera platform is self contained. I have a 6' track from Dynamic Perception which uses the OpenMoCo motion controller to drive the track. I do believe with some modification, it could be made to work on one of those rail systems--that's cool.

I've made a bunch of tiny throw away test films of a minute or two to practice programming and editing and now I'm trying to incorporate an Alt/Az head (which makes it a three axis rail). The thing that's made programming a lot easier are the apps available to help calculate alt/az movement over time. I also need to figure out how much weight the rail will carry--I'd like to shoot with a 300 f/2.8 (this lens makes buttery smooth bokeh).

Now, I just need to make time and shoot some real scenes now.

Never saw what your points were but yea I did use to shoot with Nikon haha. I just recently switched over to a 5d2 because my needs were going in a different direction than what Nikon had to offer. I completely agree that it doesn't matter what you shoot with! I just wish Nikon would release a 70-200 f/4 VR =\.

Anyways, it's pretty interesting how Nikon is going towards a high quality/high mp camera for the prosumer level while Canon is going for a fast af/high iso camera (at least I hope). It shall be interesting to see what the "5dx" or "5d3" will be.

I think that's a great idea. If the moire thing is a real problem, it'll be resolved (much like the focus issues of the 1DmkIII were) in production vs. sending the body back.

I got burned by the mkIII problem and as a result, really thought twice about buying the first of anything.
