Timing belt questions?

    My truck has 216k on it. i do belive the timing belt has been changed. does anybody know what brand toyota uses for their tb from factory? i do know that they are suppossed to be replace around 90k so my truck should have gone through 2 of them by now. i am the second owner so i dont know if it has been done twice. am almost positive it has been replaced i just need to know what the factory brand is so i can tell.. Also what kind of wear should i look for for signs that it need to be changed? Thanks

    Do not know the brand, just change the Timing belt along with the water pump. Your getting close 270,000 anyway.

    should i change the tensioner pullys? and is the tensioner tool worth the $30 bucks?

    i will be doing the pump even though i am not getting any strange noises from any bearings up in that area

    i cant say for sure. if you dont hear them squeaking or anything i think they should be fine. but im not 100% sure

    The issue with the pump is that they eventually begin to leak all of which usually starts to occur between 100k-200K, in other words soon after you do the pump if it's not already leaking. You don't want to have to go back in there again just to change out the pump, so it's extra security and better to do it all at once while you're in there in the first place.

    i mean that makes sense. i guess i will make sure a auto store has some on standby then wiggle em around when i do this job sometime this spring. thanks for all the help and i know it isnt a mitsu belt so i guess it has been changed....or were yall being facisiuos?
