Well after owning Toyota trucks for 10 years, in March of 2011 I decided to buy a new 2011 F150 XLT 4X4 with the 3.5 V6 EcoBoost motor. Even though I was happy with my 2008 Tacoma, I needed a truck to tow my new 24' enclosed car trailer. The F150, with the EcoBoost motor, offered 10,000 pound towing capacity with better mileage than the Tundra plus Ford (in my opinion) offers a bigger "bang for the buck" as compared to Toyota. The other reason is that every time I tow one of my Mustangs to a car show or track event with my Tacoma, people give me crap for towing a Mustang with a Toyota

I advertised the Tacoma on Craigslist in March 2011 for $21,000 and got 2 calls with offers of $19,000. I stood firm at $21,000 so no luck. However, the Ford dealer asked to see the Tacoma and ended up giving me $21,000 after some haggling towards the new F150. Plus, I got 60 months no interest and $1500 off of MSRP - what's not to like about that deal! The dealer had my truck sold the next day according to 2 friends of mine who are mechanics at the Ford dealer. The Tacomas hold their resale value for sure!

Great forum here and I am sure I'll be trolling around........

Looks good. An F150 would be my choice if I were getting a new truck right now. Definitely sounds like you had to move up to a full size with what you tow. I wouldn't want to routinely tow an enclosed trailer with a vehicle inside with the Taco.
