I used a cheater bar to pry down the uca when I did mine and my friend's lifts. Now that I think of it some, If I were to do it again I would loosen the uca bolt, then after putting the truck on its own weight and bouncing it a few times, then tighten the bolt back up. This will help lower the uca and make the ride a little better, cause the bushings won't be in so much tension.

Try loosening the uca bolt first, it will help in more ways then one.

Bolt going to the frame, it will allow the uca to move freely.

when you put the leafs back together with the AAL try using 1/4" drive extension, by putting in it the hole for the centering pins and clamping the leafs together. I think I stole that form 4wd on here.

I'm not sure why its being the way you are describing. Keep prying and or jacking up or letting down the lca until you get it in position. Maybe unbolt the strut do gain some extra movement. I've done this several times now and am not sure why your having a problem. Maybe some pictures to show the angles your dealing with?

To get the coilover in (on both trucks) I used a a prybar to lower the lca. And for the top I used the same technique for the uca.
