I have a 06 taco. The front mud flaps basically fell apart, so I ripped them off. Do I have to remove the actual tire in order to take the whole component off, or can I do it by turning the wheel? What all is involved w/ removing the remaining flap (bolts, screws, etc)?

Also if you use a small ratchet and a 10mm socket you don't need to turn the wheels. The push pin should have an indentation near the center use a small flathead screw driver to pry the center out

Got them off. Very easy. Used the 10mm socket and a flathead screwdriver to pull the pins out. Thanks for the info!

I took the front ones off my 2012. It was not hard but I broke most of those pins in the process. I have noticed recently that my rear mud flaps are dragging the ground in certain situations. I will probably take them off too. I am starting to wonder if it is worth the trouble and if I really need mud flaps.

Took mine off for the same reason. My thought on if I need them? No. Looks better now that they're gone anyway.

I took my fronts off of my 2012 tonight. I'll probably take my rears off soon, but I am thinking I'll fabricate some of those little flexible plastic ones to throw on the back.

I don't remember having any difficulties with this. Paint seemed fine.

Need to remove my mudflaps too. The faded 4x4 lettering in the back bothers me.
