    New truck....so nothing yet
I bought an 06 Tacoma back in August and although I love this truck, we have had some issues.

1-The OEM mudflaps are a waste. Broke both front ones within 2 weeks of purhasing the truck.

2-The leaf springs on the drivers side squeak all the time. I had them greased in November and they are at it again...suggestions?

3-What the heck is it with the "sealed" transmission? Who thought of that, you should've seen me lookin' for the dipstick.

From what i've gathered it's because toyota uses real flat springs so it's easy for dirt and crud to get stuck in between them... I've tried greasing every component and it seems the only thing that works it crossing a creek to get some water to clean it out

I took it back to the dealership the first time and they said it was due to the "shims" working their way out. I am new to Toyotas so I took them at their word....like a idiot. It seems the noise is now coming from the knuckle where the spring is bolted at the end but I am not sure how to take it off. Do they make a Haynes book yet?

This is nothing new. Just wait until your overhead temp gauge goes out.

Adam. If your leaf springs are squeeking, When you get time, lets take them apart, and reassemble them, after cleaning them out. That will fix it.

Lift the truck...mud flaps won't be a problem any more.

No squeking springs yet so I can't complain.

I will complain about the rattle on the drivers window. Its right next to my ear and drives me NUTS. Hell, it drove the wife nuts from the passenger seat. Going to get the dealer to fix it when they are installing the TSB spring.

My 05 has some of the exact same issues. My right rear mudflap partially broke off and melted to the tail pipe, so I took the remaining three off. Also I have had the same squeaky thing going on. Tried everything but taking the springs off to fix it, but couldnt. That might be next weekends project.

After I had the Leaf TSB put in on my truck, the rear leafs squeaked all the time. After inspection I found out they put one of the bolts in backwards so it was rubbing up against the chassis. Easy fix but annoying still.

The guy who bought my truck already has it back at the dealer for the same vibration and fuel mpg issue i have been chassing for 3 years. Funny the dealer told me nothing is wrong, they just sold the truck as used, wonder what they will do for this poor sap. I still love the 09 i have and my tundra is just rockin!

If Porche can do it with the Boxter I would imagine the Japs can do it, too.
