I don't see how a multi million dollar car like this could fail. They have had time to do there own testing. Obviously they did not.

The most important testing for the lower teams is going to be on the track and now they screwed it up. Sounds like some poor planning on their part. Oh well I guess someone has to be a the bottom of the list.

 

Anyone here thinking of going to Austin? Whats your thoughts on the $100 to reserve a seat? From the little I have read it seems like this is only for the start/finish grandstand seats? I think today is the last day for this program?

From looking at the pictures and this is based on if it is a clockwise track? That the seats around what I guess would be turns 4-5-6 might be more exciting place to watch. At the grand stands you would see the cars for what a 1/4 second in front of you?

Any thoughts on this?


From looking at the picture again its anti-clockwise and I am guessing turns 12-13-14.

So, I've never followed F1 much at all. Never really followed any racing at all, a little bit of Nascar. Enough to know the drivers, car makes, point systems etc.

I'd like to try and get into it a little this year. Are most of the Races televised in the US? ESPN? What are some things a beginner needs to know?

Sitting at the start / finish line means you get to see the cars before the race on the grid , and the pit action

And there is a reason you can't actually buy tickets yet , because they are not sure the race will go ahead . Expect Grandstand 1 , 2 to cost $500-600 for the weekend

Ah bummer. The Speed channel is just about done with reruns from 2011 races. If you have the speed channel set the DVR on 2/14-2/15-2/21 for some rerun races.

I was never really into nascar. I mean to be real just about anyone could make a tube chassis and put a big V8 in it with a fiberglass shell? For me F1 is way more technologically interesting. And 3 second pit stops. I mean it is retarded at how much $ they through at this but it is way more interesting than cars going in a circle.
