If these guy's want to talk about stupid laws then here's one, it is actually illegal to spit on the ground in SC. I found this out because an overzealous leo stopped me on the street one night for spitting my dip on the road in Charleston said that if he saw me do it again he'd take me to jail and fine me. I looked it up later and it is a max of $50 ticket.

+1, Uh yeah, I don't agree with banning conceal/carry, it's not the NRA crowd that is the problem in everyone's ghettos. But blanket statements like that dipshit in Alabama do absolutely nothing to carry on an intelligent dialogue.

i didn't win anything here... and things will never be "perfect", ...life is as such... there will always be turmoil of some sort, ..there will always be some segment of predatory human beings out there, for all sorts of reasons...

...trouble can spring up on you in an instant, and when you least expect it... why begrudge those for being prepared?... to deny the ability to defend oneself, especially if encountered w/ disparity of force by weaponry, surprise, and numbers (and especially for women) is counter to self determination, one's liberty, and one's reason for being... kalifornia needs to awaken to see the problem for what it is: unopposed predators, recidivism, ...a revolving door criminal justice system that endangers law enforcement and good citizens...

Uhhhh.... I don't know if this has been said but the article says its lifting the ban, as in doing away with it. Yeah the lifeguards can still ticket you but I doubt anyone of them really would. Just my .02(not that it matters lol)

The big one is the fact CA is a "May" issue state. Sorry to Fractured but I'd like to be able to carry. I'd rather have it and not need it then, well... You get the picture.

I sas born and raised in AZ and while I love the desert it's not someplace I want to go back to.

..he may not know the difference between "may" and "shall" issue CHL, ...most of the non-gunowning public probably don't....

    i will attempt to clarify:
"may issue" is really "mother may i?", ..when it comes to asking a sheriff for (gasp) permission to carry concealed... "shall issue" means any citizen/resident/etc in good standing, no disqualifying offenses, etc, must be issued the CHL - i.e. it's your "right", as long as your background checks out.... the problem w/ "may issue", is that the sheriff/politicians/bureaucrats have the ultimate power to subjectively decide if you "have a need" for the CHL - this is patently absurd, and is regularly abused in "certain" counties (generally urban) in "may issue" states like CA... LA County, issues a miniscule number of CHLs, despite having the largest population... you don't have the "right" there, unless you are a VIP/celebrity or well politically connected...

Shouldn't prejudge. I grew up in California (Sacramento), joined the Army in California, went to Basic in California (Ft Ord), got married in California (Ontario), wife's family still lives in California (LA area), work for military in Alabama, and plan to retire permanently in Alabama (much better place). Witnessed plenty of violence in California, more than anywhere else we've lived.

Somehow I have made it to the ripe old age of 45 in this state without being assaulted with a deadly weapon every second of my life, or being so paranoid that I feel I will be asssualted whenever I go fetch some milk. I guess have enough sense to stay away from such places. In fact, somehow, I have never been assaulted, ever, and I can't remember ever feeling seriously threatened but one or twice. But I have been hit by the odd frisbee or two. Even so, I feel no need to ban them.

But why am I even talking about guns right now? Why a local beach ordinance has to turn into a second amendment battleground I have no idea.

Great, now I have to go get more .303 ammo for the SMLE MkIII*

Be sure to bring lots of beer so we can bro it up good and hard. But NO FOOTBALLS!

For anyone else who is in California and doesn't like it, you'll find these convenient:
    I-5
    I-8
    I-10
    I-80
    LAX
    SFO
    For anyone outside the state
