My truck does it only when a/c or defrost is on. Just the compressor kicking on and off. Know exactly what you mean.

Its a known characteristic of the vehicle, its from the A/C compressor turning on and off.

Why is this in the build folder?

X3. Keep in mind the compressor kicks on and off in both defrost modes, even if the A/C isn't on.

all tacomas tend to do that....its pretty much only happens when the a/c compressor kicks in and it feels like it goes forward even with the foot down on the brake

Mine started doing it the day I put my wheels and tires on, went from stock to 32 inch. I think it has something to do with changing the gear ratio due to new size tires and computer controlled shift points.

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
I think it's more the truck/tranny downshifting into first than the compressor. Notice there's no manual guys in here.

:notsure: Always assumed mine was due to compressor kicking on. Because thats the only time it does it on my truck. Maybe combo of both little more load on the engine, and trans dropping into 1st.

Mine does this sometimes, with the A/C off. It happens when I coast to a stop. I am sitting there when there is a sudden "lurch", almost feels like someone ran into the back of the truck very slowly. I drive an auto. I am starting to believe that when I coasted to a stop it stayed in second gear, then after a slight delay it engaged first and that it what I am feeling.

Agreed. Sometimes that gear change kicks like a mule, too. At least it does on mine.

Haven't had to run the AC yet since getting my taco. I drove a standard for 7.5 years so the first time it did it i thought someone rolled up and hit me as well. But after it doing it a few times i think it comes from stopping to fast and the tranny catching up to slow? But jmo definately no taco experience here i've only had it for 2 months.
