    Begin flaming...

I've wanted to long travel my truck for some time, and ive got the funds in order, but the planning is getting to be a headache. I still want to utilize my bedspace, my toolbox, etc. I don't want to lose the functionality of my PICKUP truck by doing a bedcage and fiberglass fenders on all 4 corners, and not be able to pick up the effing groceries.

So my question is this, what can be done long travel or mid travel wise, to get the most usable wheel travel but not hack my bed to shit? stock fenders, stock bed, minimum fabrication work. everyone on here/my friends/local fab guys are screaming CHAOS/BEDCAGE/4LINK, etc... but I really don't want the bro dozer look, just a nice weekend chase truck that wont trail too far behind the bikes, and carry all their gas and spare parts. :) :p

    To much to list!
Not sure the year of your truck. But I would say do front long travel with fiberglass. For the rear I say do a deaver midtravel setup with some longer shocks relocated under the bed. With a camburg or Tc kit up front getting you about 13" of wheel travel. A mid travel setup in the rear will get you about the same while not hacking into the bed. I ran a similar setup for about 4 years. I bet in those days I ran my truck harder then I have in the past couple of years. Travel numbers dont mean crap without the shocks being tuned good. Just remember the limits of your truck with that setup.

EDIT: just read your profile. It says 96 5 lug. If that is the case I recommend Jd fab kit. If money permits I would get the extreme kit.

You can always build a nice tight bedcage

    And then plate wheel wells.

Couple shocks, some old tires, and a bad paint job
Cab cage the truck first, then go from there.

If you don't have much weight in the back the ride height is huge
I have a full cage, 32 gallon cell, 2 35'' spares, 2 batteries all the way in the back and I had 12'' of uptravel when they were new

ride height will change big time. going to pull a leaf or 2 out of the all pro packs and hopefully with the weight of the spares, fuel tank, jack and other crap it will sit level with the front. the front will drop a bit with the new softer coils too... we'll see. i'm just stoked because i've only heard really good things about people switching leaf packs, they say the ride quality is much better with the all pro packs
