Towing 16' bass boat with 98 reg cab 4x4--concerned about length vs. short wheelbase.

I have a 98 reg cab 4x4 2.7l. I intend to tow a 16' bass boat--total weight, loaded ~ 2000 lbs. I read the Towing Bible regarding my truck and it appears to say that I can safely tow up to 3500 lbs. From the hitch coupler to the back of the boat motor is just over 20 feet. I have a 103.3" wheelbase.
Would the length of the trailer cause me any problems?

Did not see much about length in the Towing Bible, which is otherwise excellent. I know that all other things being equal the longer your wheelbase the better you tow, but this is my setup. Problems?

 

I towed 20+foot 2 axle trailer with my 2005 Taco v6. Had no issues. As far as I know, the weight plays major role not the length of what you are towing. If the boat and trailer is less than 3500lbs, you should be ok.

 

An you're fine...I've seen tacomas pulling 21fters and I mean big and heavy 21fters. It's not the towing part you should be concerned about, it's stopping what you are towing lol. A 16ft bass boat is cake for a tacoma

With your short wheelbase, you will be able to maneuver your trailer much easier than with a vehicle with a longer wheelbase.
My buddy had a dbl cab long bed Dodge, it was always a nightmare turning his boat trailer around it that.
