    It gives you intermittent wipers where you had none.

    Hey quick question. When you pull the switch back to wash the windshield do the wipers come on automatically now. With my non intermittent switch they don't.

    Correct part number for 2012 Tacoma is
    $139 84652-02610 Windshield Wiper Switch
    84652-02610. Just installed it and works fine. Have had a running dialog with Toyota in California and my dealer about installing it. Based on what I read in this forum I demanded that they check with Toyota's engineering department as to whether it could be installed. Well, they (corporate) finally agreed it can be done but won't authorize dealers to install because of some stupid warranty stipulation. The VIN number tells what's on a truck and they won't warranty the part or accept the truck in trade if it has the switch installed. So save the old switch if you plan on trading it in before the 3 year warranty runs out!

    I can see them not warranteeing a part the truck was not built with, as it won't be in the build record for that VIN. But not accept on trade? Bahahahaha! Like they would even notice, unless of course you told them.:rolleyes:

    Agreed! But you never know who might really go gung ho when checking a truck out at trade in.
    I still don't agree with not warrantying a part if it was installed by the dealer! That's just plain BS on Toyota's part.:mad:

    The cheap base model I could afford didn't, surprised the heck out of me when I picked it up. I thought all vehicles came with it now. Installed mine yesterday, thanks to TW,and to Parke in VA. that picked it up for me on his salvage buying spree. It was pretty straight forward to do, just take your time. Works great,thank you Parke. Albert

    In addition to the base model, the "Access Cab Convenience Package" for almost $1000 doesn't either. On the website it says this, "(CP) Access Cab Convenience Package-Remote keyless entry system, cruise control, sliding rear window with privacy glass and steering wheel audio controls"
    I have the access cab package and there are no steering wheel audio controls either.

    Is changing out the switch be this easy on an 08 Tacoma 4 cyclinder? I strongly believe I can do this, but part of me is wondering if it will be this easy. Thanks

    Strangely my dealer said that they have it. It will be about $30.00 more if I pay it from the dealer. Just wondering how much labor would be.

    It was for my 2012. I'm no mechanic, and it was done in 15 minutes.
    Do a search on this forum and find the thread with photos to show you what to look for.

    It was pretty easy,and I am no mechanic either. The main thing you have to look for is how the wire connectors unplug, and how to un-do the latch that holds the stem assembly in, other than that it was done in no time. Once you do it, you will realize how simple it is. Took me about 20 minutes, but I have a habit of forcing and breaking stuff, so I took it slow on purpose.....
