Thinking on buying this Camo truck tent. I think camping in my long bed would be a lot more comfortable than on the ground like I'm used too, and the fact I'm not o nthe ground shouuld prevent rain from being an issues.

Any thoughts or suggestions? I'd like to spend less than $100, college is expensive.

just make sure you get the right sized tent for your bed so it fits right. Google toyota tacoma bed tent. I know there are a few out there but not sure how much they cost.

I must admit, I am somewhat of a gear whore. There's plenty more to be pictured but I gave up. So let's see all your camping/hiking/backpacking gear

    My 4 packs. 2 Deuter pro42, a Deuter act lite 50+10, and a Mountain Hardware 26 daypack
    [IMG]

My Alpacka alpaca packraft with my kokatat drysuit and all my dry bags
    [IMG]

Some of my backpacking/camping gear. Stuff sacks contain my warbonnet blackbird hammock, and my 2 tarps
    [IMG]

Underquilts and topquilt for my hammock
    [IMG]

    2 down bags
    [IMG]

Out of all the gear pictured my favorite is definitely my packraft. The item that goes on every hiking/camping/packrafting/backpacking trip is my PLB, and so far has been dead weight on every trip.

I like it, but it's pretty heavy. Plus it's a ceramic filter, so if you will be anywhere close to freezing temps you had better sleep with it between your legs all night or risk the filter cracking and becoming useless. I also have a homemade filter that is less than half the weight and probably double the output. I have since switched to using a Sawyer 4 liter gravity water filter system.

My buddy who owns a pool cleaning company made this for me, I begged him for one after seeing and using his on a trip we did. He states is filters down to 0.3 microns, and that the paper/mesh filter is good for 5,000 gallons. We have used them on over 10+ trips but all were at a major river here with plenty of fast moving water to filter from. Neither of us has gotten sick from drinking water filtered with this filter. Before I use this filter I also put a piece of pantyhose around the filter just as a pre-filter.

I believe he also uses his for his entire family when they go on family fishing outings. He has had to replace his paper/mesh filter part once, and stated the new filter was $36.
