    coming soon!
I have been looking at lifts and have decided to do Coilovers since that's what I did with my Tundra and loved it. I'm going to go with Camburg or SAW's and I've been told a couple of times that I should go with the FJ SAW coilovers for my Tacoma instead because the FJ SAW coilovers are 14/700 and the Tacoma SAWS are 13/650. The longer FJ coilover means less compression for lift and a smoother ride. Has anyone done this? Thanks.

I haven't researched, but apparently spring length and rate judging by the posts above.

So if we just swapped stock taco coilovers for some FJ how much height would it actually gain?

    I'm just interested..

Should be around 1.5-1.75 inches without preloading. Max of 3 inches.

None, but the ride would most likely be softer.

I don't know offhand, but this topic has been covered maybe a half-dozen times in the last few years. Try searching some of them?

Stock spring rate for the tacoma is around 550 lbs. You're throwing in a 700 lbs spring without preload; You're still gonna get some lift.

Im using tapatalk. The search function sucks..

I would just think if this was a legit way for 1.5-2" lift up front guys on a budget would be all over this as a way better alternative to buying spacers...

I imagine one could surf the FJ site and get stock coilovers fairly easily and cheap if not free..

We were talking SAW's right? Budget? They cost 1k for a set. They are adjustable from 0 to 3" and the only difference between the two is coil wraps and rated weight. No need to run FJ coils unless you have added weight on your rig (Bumper, winch, skids ect.) You may cause more problems running them if you do not have any additional weight by over extending your travel upward and always topping them out. Then you might need limit straps. SAW makes a great product and I would use what is recommended for your truck. As for the stock coilovers on an FJ they are the exact same as the Tacoma - No different. I currently run OME but I will be upgrading to SAW soon.

Oh ok. Gotcha, I was thinking it was initially talking about stock coil overs on an FJ.

I thought they were the same as a Taco but then after reading and being confused thought they were longer or had more preload.
