I have a Leer 122 shell on my 04 Tacoma. I carry a lot of stuff in it when I go camping like a highlift jack, a second spare tire, a milk crate with a fire ext. 3 gallon water container, 8 ton bottle jack and wood to put under it and tire sealant. I sometimes just take army cots but if I plan to sleep in it I have a two inch thick piece of foam rubber 30 inches by 6 ft. A large cooler and a plastic box with fluids, bolt cutter, small ax, pry bar, tie wraps, hoses etc. Another box with a winch to mount in a hitch receiver for fronty or back along with pulleys etc and don't forget several good tow straps thrown in the back somewhere.

I never understood sleeping in the bed of the truck (emergencies withstanding)

Why not pitch a tent and be much more comfortable?

    Hey, that's my p0rn name!

well being in the bed keeps you off the ground. nice flat firm surface to sleep on. lots of advantages i can think of. id way rather be in the bed than in tent on the ground. my tacoma came with a nice inch thick bed mat too, so im off the ribs. i really just need to throw an air matress in there, and cover up the top and im golden. or find a tent that will fit in the box.

Most places that sell camper shells also sell rails to mount Yakima or Thule rack systems.

The above pix shows the cot and high lift jack. This pix the yelloe box is a jump start battery and the black box has two VHF race radios and a DC to AC converter.
