Okay so straight cut gears are stronger but noisier than helical cut gears. I think they are noisier, but I can't hear my current transmission with straight cut gears because the engine is so loud, I think I hear it, but that might be the cams.

    - So does anyone know where you can get some straight cut gears for the '98-'04 Tacoma transmission?

Also what kind of stronger drive-line parts are there? i.e. an extendable umm..drive shaft? I can't remember what part I saw on TV or read about. I think it comes out of the transfer case.

Stronger chains in the transfer case?

What's the part that goes from the differential gears to the wheels? Don't they have stronger parts for that?

Is there a Dana 44 for the Tacoma?

ok so im pretty sure our transmissions have straight cut gears because i can hear them loud as hell. Maybe that just cuz im a gear head and listen for anything bad haha. but as for the t-case question i think the term your looking for is a "slip yoke eliminator" i know it has something to do with the t-case and the driveshaft but i dont know what it does lol

youd need a SAS for a Dana 44...and iirc tacos have some of the strongest t cases

Mine? I plan on putting low compression forged pistons, stronger CR's, idk about crankshaft, preferably a turbocharger, if not a supercharger, an intercooler. and idk what else.
