Do you think we will ever have force fields or shields, like in Star Trek?

I hope so, cause that would be cool as hell.

Just curious if you think mankind will ever actually come up with working versions of them?

Apparently we're just a hop skip and jump from invisibility and matter/energy transportation, so I would imagine energy fields wouldn't be far too behind.

I wish to at least live to see the day man achieve FTL transportation, or some form of better space transportation than what we have now.

Or at least live to see the day the entire human race works together to better ourselves and stop working against each other...but I doubt that will happen soon.

Matter transportation would be cool if I wasn't worried about losing a body part going to the grocery store. According to The Jetsons, we were supposed to have flying cars and houses by now. I kinda hope something happens soon, like finding another inhabitable planet.... maybe.
