i just finished my undercover winch mount system from undercoverhwms.com. I placed a smittybilt xrc8 8000lb winch on this mount. this mount is very clean looking and will handle anything you can throw at it is rock solid.

here's some pics of the truck completed sorry couldn't get any of it while working on it because it was dark and 20 degrees outside lol. but here it is...

Nope didn't push the bumper out at all the mount is made out of 3/16 steel n replaces the factory crush zone. I didn't get any pics of it getting put on cause it was dark n cold but it fits were the factory crush bumper goes and bolts to the frame with 8 bolts its a solid mount

I wonder how it would hold up in a front end crash. And how insurance would look at

Its as strong as a aftermarket steel plate bumper and if put on correctly. Insurance wud be fine about it

Very cool and very clean. Now get some new tires and you might not need a winch.

I like this option as opposed to a new bumper. Did it make your front sag any?

the lower valance looks like its being pushed down from the winch plate, is it just an illusion?

Didn't make it sag at all but I do have a 3new inch lift and the the lower valence is a little lower cuz of the factory bracket used got to trim it down some but it want hit the winch mount good 2 to 3meet inch margin between

So after all was said and done, how much did the whole winch setup cost you?

My thoughts as well. For that kind of money I might be better off buying a locker so I don't get in a situation where I need the winch at all. :D

    cheaper than calling a tow
    see above....

i think his setup is badass...that being said i have a hidden front hitch by ato i know cbi makes one too around $300 and change.....and i have my winch mounted on a carrier so i can use it up front or in rear...as most of my recovery have been from the rear hitch......
    just my .02
a locker will not save u all the time.....a winch is a smart poe to have....

Looks really good OP.. Only issue I see is the cable wearing off the paint on your bumper..
