Hold on, your scans are still finding things?

I may have misread, but I thought you already re-installed Windows?!

i didnt have to reinstall, i ran unhide and got all my stuff back, but my IT buddy told me to clear out the temp folders and check the run keys or whatever, and after all that i ran my scan and was still finding stuff, but now it all seems ok, but i am going to look into better av software for sure, AVG seems good, but i'm sure there is better.

AVG is typically what i use along with malwarebytes. There doesn't seem to be just 1 out there that will take care of it all. (both spyware and viruses)

    AVG... :puke:

I know a lot of people like it though. I honestly don't have anything that runs realtime anymore except for Windows Firewall and Security Essentials. All that other stuff really bogs down a computer. I just run my Spybot and Malwarebytes every week or so and I'm good.

AH okay, so OP if you can burn disc images, http://www.hirensbootcd.org/download/

That has many tools that can run outside windows when you start your computer up from the CD.

If not, well you can try all the applications on that CD. I know ClamAV is on there and a bunch of other popular anti-malware programs.

Alright, as i stated earlier, i fix cars, not computers. I just realized what i stated earlier about still getting "problems" when i run the scan is probably normal. I have been running the AVG tune up scan and i think if you run the internet for any period and then run a scan you get "problems" I have come to realize all my problems from this morning (reason i started this thread) seem to have gone away and i might not completely know what i am talking about when it comes to computers. Still learning.:p

:DThanks again for all the help everyone, i think i will look into that microsoft av and see what it's all about.

Ok, thought everything was good, but started up the laptop tonight and my systemseems to have reset itself or something. I have the finger print thing and it was reset and my windows acted like it was the first time i opened it. I am starting to get aggreivated and thinking of just taking it to my buddy who is a serious IT guy and letting him have at it.

Also, ever since everything originally happened, i get a norton warning 5013,3. I have researched it and get no real answers, if anyone has any advice, please let me know, thanks!

If you take it to a "serious" it guy it will cost you a minimum of $100 and upwards of $200-$300.

My suggestion (as an IT professional) is to save all of your files that you need to a usb flash drive. find the CD's that came with it and reload it from scratch. Then you wont' have to worry if you got it all.

I will typically spend no more than about 30 min to an hour on spy ware or viruses before i reload it. It isn't worth it money wise for my customer for me to spend 2-3 hours to try and clean it all up and still not get everything. I can spend 60-90 min and reload it from scratch.

i might very likely go this route, but my IT guy i speak of is a close friend and he really is a badass when it comes to IT. Only problem for me is that i would have to give up my laptop for a day or 2 cause he would only be able to work on it at home.
