the 5 lug trucks are hard to build in moderation because there is such little after market support for them. like i said in the other thread, it's almost all or nothing... LT or pretty much stock.

thought about buying another truck? just a fun truck... can get a decent build old pick up or old tacoma for cheap these days

I was talking to the mgr over at 4 wheel parts yesterday..getting prices on parts..and he mentioned some issues tacoma owners have been having with the icon coilovers. He said the last few he's sold have been back in due to seals leaking...also mentioned something like a gooses honking sound when they go over bumps. I was leaning towards getting them but now I'm not so sure. I'm thinking just going king and calling it a day...even though I love the icons...look wise.

Typically, I wouldn't either. However, the mgr owned the off roading store there for 25 before he got bought out by 4 wheel parts and seems to know his stuff. And from what he's saying, he's talking from direct experience with a couple recent customers. I'd just hate to get the icons and have some issue with em. Have you guys heard anything about crappy seals on em or the honking sound?

i've had 2 sets of icons on my truck (mid travel and now LT) never had any issuse with blown seats or odd noises.

the seal issuse sounds like what was going on a few months back with the leeper shocks. the leeper shocks were basically knock off icons and looked identical to icon but were garbage... in reality though you can blow the seal on any shock. i'd still go with icon if thats what you want... their quality is top notch. unless the 4WP guy can prove the issues to you...
