I'm saying, even if you were demonstrably defaming, there's a slim chance they would sue you. If you were just telling things the way it happened, that's not defamation.

Stick to statements such as "I wasn't happy with their service because..." and away from statements like, "They're all a bunch of crooks.."

 

Sorry OP, I'm a bit confused. What are you concerned about? Either you had bad experiences and want to share them with fellow consumers, or you want to damage their businesses unnecessarily, and potentially for your own selfish interests.

If it's the former, then go ahead... share your experiences, and if a business is damaged in the process, so be it. Shitty customer service, unreliable products, and bad business practices should be called out--and other consumers warned. That's the price of doing business.

Now, if it's the latter, it's immature and you should be sued.

 

There was no exchange of money in one scenario. Just outright horrible customer service and a lack or respect.

Unless you're rolling in it, at 21 you probably have few real assets (just an assumption, not an insult). No company is going to waste their time with you because you said something about them, true or untrue. There is no payday for them.

all you need to know is....

you can't get in trouble for fact. but it has to be FACT in every sense of the word.

you can't get in trouble for a clearly stated OPINION.

you can get in trouble for anything that can be proven a lie or falsehood that you make and accusation of. as was said - written is libel, spoken is slander. they are both crimes and serious ones at that.
