Tricks to remove 3M Tape

One of my vent visors needed new tape, so I removed it and been working on getting the left over 3M tape off. I've been using a blowdryer to help make it soft. Any other tricks you guys know?

 

Like your doing... heat it up, then goo-gone or wd40 and a plastic scraper.

 

That's exactly what I've been doing. Just not the Goo Gone. I think that might remove paint.

 

I think you'll be fine but test it out on a hidden area first.

 

3m makes a product that is like an eraser wheel. I use it at the shop in my makita drill to remove bodyside moulding tape. Just be careful not to spin it too fast as it can burn the paint.

 

wd 40 is amazing. spray, rub gone!

I ended up using that on the residual adhesive left over from my vent visors

Used it for debadging my truck.

Direct sun + Goo-gone + thumbnail + elbow grease = clean paint

 

I would try WD40 and then rubbing alcohol that's like 70% or higher

 

De-Solv-it. Smells good too.

 

i get this stuff from my work. works like a champ and smells like oranges. used it when i debadged. pretty expensive if you have to buy it though, lol.
