Ouch, that's pretty harsh lol. We're not ALL bad.

How far is the closest good sized city to Yakima?

I've only been out there for clients, so haven't ventured to surrounding area.
i think your best bet is the Tri-cities (Kennewick/Pasco/Richland) which is about an hour from what google says.

I'm still debating on tires. i live on a plateau and the weather here can be the complete opposite of the valley. we got lots of ice/freezing fog. I'm thinking about duratracks, terra grapplers and dynapro atm. i still have about 15-20k left on my tires now. but i will be getting new ones before moab

Would anyone be down to meet up in PDX somewhere the weekend march 23rd? I'll be in town picking up my bumper from Tim and we were thinking about some sort of meet and greet at the same time.

That isn't too bad. I mean Clarksville TN is about an hour from Nashville. But then again there's quite a bit in Clarksville city wise. But no outdoors stuff.

It looks like I'm probably busy that weekend in Tacoma

I managed to pick up a really good review of tires, here's their top picks:

Duratrecs: scored great across the board, but they have a weak sidewall.
General Grabber: heavy, sucks in ice, but great for go-fast and pretty good all around
Goodyear MT/R Kevlar: good all around, kinda meh in ice
Goodyear Silent Armor: sucks in mud, otherwise good scores
Mickey Thompson MTZ: loud, 'doesn't get a top score in any one category, but does everything better than average' 3 out 4 across the board

If there's a different tire you'd like to know, I can try to look it up.

Douchebag is a term of endearment in the Infantry world, lol. Either one is a decent duty station recreation wise. Whatever you do, do not go to Fort Irwin (NTC) no matter what. Worst duty station ever, especially for you guys as the range has been active constantly since Patton was training for North Africa. You can't piss without finding uxo.

Yeah - hopefully that would make up for the fact you live in Yakima

X2 on the access to the outdoorsy things though.

I assume you're talking about original Top Gear. A show in which they also refer to the trunk of a car as the "Boot" and the hood as the "Bonnet". So, since I live in the US of A. Your point is invalid. 5-door it is. :D

And if you're actually bothering to quote the American Top Gear... well :brianr:

Oh trust me I KNOW about Irwin!! NTC is horrible! I would rather go to Fort Polk (JRTC) than to go to Irwin.

4Runner has new exhaust from the cat-back! :woot: That resonance was making me want to drive the thing off a cliff. Now it's whisper quiet with a hint of that trademark 22RE sound when you really put your foot into it :D
