I know Rick Nash is not old, but it would be the same old trade Dean Lombardi always makes. He gets rid of young talent (Bernier, not Penner and Hunter) for someone not nearly as young. Nash is great, but if he comes to LA he's gonna become exactly like everyone that comes here. He's going to stop working, his numbers are going to drop, and he's not going to help. Meanwhile we got rid of a young goalie. get my point? he's not old, but I can't stand Lombardi trading the future away. He's done that way too many times in the past few years with schenn and simmonds for richards, a high draft pick for pancake boy..., and the list goes on really.

 

Stop reading Eklund! The Nucks will have to give up more than that for him. He's a franchise player that'll score 40 goals a season on a non-Blue Jackets roster. His. cap hit is too high for an outsider as well (compared to players like Bieksa who took less money to stay with VAN)

A scary one I heard is the Bruins and it'd be Seguin, Rask, and a 1st round pick going the other way. I'm not sure I'd pull the trigger on that but I'm no GM! If I were the CBJ upper management I'd probably let Howson go before this deal was done and continue to look in the summer for better return.
