It is a great day in Canada today. We have, after many many years, voted down our federal long gun registry, and we wont stop there!

hold on, now, i'm just as excited for our friends to the north too, ...but the fat lady hasn't yet sung on this... as i understand it, it has to pass the canadian senate still, ...? if so, don't count your chickens before they hatch... but, i hope the registry is dead for real, ...all those do is scrutinize and demonize good law abiding citizens, w/ no effect on real criminals, all for "feel good" nanny-state BS...

Yes it was a huge money pit. But striking it down and deleting everything is literally wasting all the money that was put into it.

I found it fucking hilarious that the retards in government actually had the balls to say they don't want to infringe on how people live their lives, but are actively seeking to make abortion illegal, are against gay marriage and want to keep marijuana use criminalized.

how big a majority?... i dunno, guess i'd rather err on the side of caution because otherwise complacency could bite you... i.e. stay vigilant and make sure nothing screws up the progression to the finish line!!!!

It was a good law, just not well executed. We don't have the number of guns like the states do, nor the number of people. But it is what it is. And to delete it all is retarded. If they wanted to discontinue it, fine. But to completely throw it all away?

So the Moose and Bear Party lost on this one . I didn't look into this, just wanted to interject my smart ass-ness. So in Canada the long gun was a No No? When you guys have more big game than we, us Americans have, or does this mean you now can own more guns for whatever reason? Just asking.
