What I would like to see is the number of good people with guns out number the bad people with guns.

Shoot/own what you can handle and use proficiently. My choice is the good ol' 1911 in 45 acp. Does that qualify as big bore or tactical? Big bore yes. Tactical? Well what is "tactical" these days? does it need to have a light mounted on it and some big drop leg holster? Or is "tactical" a state of mind of how well trained the shooter is. I hate how the word "tactical" has become a marketing buzz word to sell a whole bunch of useless accessories.

I think its a good idea for competent people to own guns period, also with the proper handling, safety and training of course

To be taticool you need a light mounted (with strobe), crimson trace laser, night sights, and the Burris fast fire on top. the pistol must be mounted on your vest over your left pectoral and you have to be wearing an tactical vest.

Ahh. See I was missing the vest. And the strobe. Man I guess I don't have a "tactical", but it's black and has night sights does that count?

Where do you live? Where I am, it's not illegal. You can step out and fire off rounds in the county. Those who do probably don't consider the chances of harm well enough. I have a friend who took a .22 round to the head some years ago, thanks to the fools across the river. I have a lot of woods around me, but houses too. I'd never take a shot. My old house, pasture for days. Full on ammo unloading there.

And what about this dude?! :infantry:

basically every residence in the state of idaho has at least one gun anyway. might as well. No point in having it if you aren't going to use it though. You have to take your weapons out every now and then to practice with them and get familiar with them.
