When you say take the springs and struts to a shop to have them put together do you mean putting the new spring and shock together so then i can just bolt it on the truck. Sorry if that was a dumb question lol. How much do you think the 2.5 lift will affect my mpg. I dont wanna go up to 285s. I like my 265/75. tires now. I guessing not a huge difference. The only reason im asking is cause i drive alot. 20,xxxx a year lol.

If your keeping the same rims/tires it won't really affect your MPGs

You know im in then :D

The difference between 265/75 and 285/75 for gas mileage is HUGEE. Probably from the low end being at least 2- MPG. Not only does the upgrade from 265 to 285 make the tire wider obviously but it makes it even taller and aggressive looking depending on what brand, but it also makes the tire so much heavier then the skinnier 265. If you ask Jon what his MPG is now with his lift I'd be surprised if its anything over 15 MPG, probably worst. BUTT its the price you pay to have a beast rig like his now :D If you get the 2.5 lift and same tires it wont affect it much though.

Exactly. MPG wont change unless you change tires.

Well that's good to know. I would like 285s but with gas going up I'll stick to my 265s lol. How would a 2.5 in lift look with 265s . Would it look bad. I'm thinking not.

I'm not looking for the biggest lift . Just a nice 2.5 or 3 in to go offroading more and have fun.

I love my new truck but miss my Tacoma
I can come by and help wrench on it for you. I also think a aal will be a good idea if you are lifting the front that high. I can bring most any tools needed for the job except for a spring compressor (John has one though if he wants to bring it). I'll bring my little weber grill if you supply the burgers and dogs. Lol

My next set of tires is going to be the general grabbers. The AT is supposed to be a pretty good all around tire.

I finally went through my first tank of fuel with the 285/75/16 duratracs
    Im at 18mpgs
    265/70/16 Dynapros at we're 20 mpgs
I drive like a old man though all depends on how much lead you got in your foot .
I can help with you install it .
My front is roughly 2.5 (I never measured it)
    I have a 1.5 aal
I sit a little nose high but once the front settles it will be level .

Ok great. I can count on you then to help me lol. That's not bad for 285s. If this truck wasn't my dally driver then I would get 285s no problem but since it is I'll have to stick to 265s. I have friends that live everywhere and a gf that lives 50 mins away so. I go though oil changes like that cause I drive so much lol. But as long as I stay with 265s I'll be fine and have a good lift.
