BP gas tacoma

I live in NJ, I have using BP gas, regular. I have been geting around 400 in a tank of gas! When I use WAWA or other gas, I dont get that much miles...
BP sometimes costs 10 cents more, but I'm going BP from now on all the way!!

 

Good gas is worth the money. I usually use Shell here in FLA.

went to bp the other day - the nozzle shot out and sprayed gas all over the side of the truck... quickly washed it off and did not have any damages. I'll only go to sunoco from now on.

 

Did the attendant forget how to pump gas that day? Besides gas being cheaper in NJ I hate that I can't pump it myself.

When I use WAWA gas I def notice a little drop in MPG.

That is one thing I will never understand is why you cant pump your own gas here in Jersey?

In New Jersey, motorists who need to fill 'er up haven't pumped their own gas in 57 years. But in the face of soaring gas prices, Gov. Jon Corzine came up with a novel plan last month to try to ease the pain: allow self-service at some stations along the New Jersey Turnpike and see if prices dip. He believed prices could drop 5 to 7 cents a gallon.
Corzine retreated after about 1,400 e-mails and calls poured in from a mostly outraged public. Concern about other state issues paled in comparison.

Critics of a shift to self-service say pumping their own gas would be especially hard on the elderly, could create a safety hazard as inexperienced motorists try to fill their tanks and cost many station attendants their jobs while doing nothing to lower prices.
Assemblyman Francis Bodine, a Republican, says that after stopping at self-service stations in the South recently, he found that gas in New Jersey was the same price or slightly cheaper. "So I don't see any economic savings to having to pump your own gas," he says. "The flip side of it is ... there'd be some job losses." Besides, he says, "If I'm in a tux going to a black tie (event), I don't want to stop and handle a gas pump.
Bill Dressler, executive director of the New Jersey Gasoline Retailers Association and Allied Trades, says there are safety concerns. While attendants are trained, many motorists would be novices. "It could be put in the wrong container," says Dressler, whose group represents about 2,200 of the state's 3,800 gas stations. There could be "somebody getting out and smoking and they didn't turn the engine off."
Dressler says that prices also would not drop. "The dealers are not making that much money," he says. "What would happen is the self-service price would reflect what's full-service today, and full-service would escalate 10 to 15 cents a gallon."

I don't see why different gas stations would have different gas that alters MPG a noticeable amount.

Many gas stations have 90/10 gas with 10% ethanol, which produces less energy (up to 33%) and gives you lower MPG. Though it should not be a noticeable difference, I still try and stay away.

Ethanol costs more to manufacture and produces less energy when burned...how does this help us

However, automobile and small engine manufacturers have said there's no certainty yet that such an increase will not harm engines and fuel lines."

 

well, I think you guys should try BP for like at least 3-4 fills to see it. Everytime I go fill i change the trip miles to 0. I get around 400 miles with the tanks. BP makes good gas anyway.

I agree...I have a high performance dirt bike that I try to pull every last bit of power from. Its not going to be happy with weaker gasoline.

I usually fill it up with 93 from a local BP station.

 

I've noticed that highway driving at over 65-70 MPH kills the MPG numbers.
With the 21.1 gal tank,400 miles to just about empty is about 20 MPG.

 

I'm on the fence with BP gas. I used to run it in my old lumina exclusively. I ended up with randomly clogged fuel injectors. Their gas used to be crap. In the past few years they changed over to amaco gas. Now, my buddy swears by it in his bike, I just can't trust them with my vehicles again.

 

Its worth giving it a shot, im not that happy with 280-300 miles per tank

 

We don't have BP here but only one chain sells ethanol free gas & its the least expensive station. Maybe they buy from BP?

I use it when I can, watch my rpms & still do not see 400 on a tank but I'm happy with my truck no matter what
