Maybe just some better tires... No plans for any major mods due to the fact that I have a 72 month/90,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty w/ no deductible...

Also, I like the stock reliability and performance... I think this truck is great right out of the box...

I was surprised... The '09's come with like 4-5 different traction control systems... VSC... A-Trac... Auto LSD... Locking rear Diff... Downhill Assist Control... etc... AND, they can be selectively turned off/on individually...

I like the fact that I can decide how to use them and which is best for my situation...

I live "offroad" (I live at 9700 feet in the CO mountains on 35 acres w/ a 1 mile dirt/gravel drive that goes up 600 feet in elevation...) and I head into the national forest at least 3-4 times per month, so this truck will definitely get used...

that's the exact truck I have! although mine is a different color. All the bottons are great but you can still only use most in 4lo, ie downhill assent control, rear diff locker. The best button there is the RSCA off, which turns off the side airbags. This is because the new Tacos have a roll sensor and if you are off roading and jolt to one side too quickly they will deploy. So make sure you turn it off if you are off road (you have to hold it down for 3 seconds). Welcome to TW!

Wouldn't that suck if your slowly navigating a rock garden with your 2009 Tacoma and BAM...your side airbags deploy and knock your ass onto the center console!

Has this happened to anyone on here? It would be a funny story!

Good looking ride you got there. What did you have before you came over to the dark side? I like the "drunk driver" button. If you are standing still, or going less than five 5 mph, and press it once, it turns off the VSC and enables the Auto LSD, the "haul ass" mode. If you press it again and hold it for a few seconds, it keeps the VSC off and also turns off the ALSD so you have an open diff. Good for doughnuts and one tire fires. Pressing it at speed will enable the ALSD, but it will keep the VSC on. It's kinda cool having a open diff., LSD, or locker with the press of a button. Atrac is pretty cool too. I just leave the button on. Unlike the locker, it doesn't even light up until you put it in 4lo.

Good lookin' truck. I like the white letter tires. I'm kinda old school, I like chrome and white letter tires. Not much of either around here anymore.
