This stuff works great for squeaks. Goes on as a penetrating liquid and thickens to super gel:

I put my truck on a lift so the axle would drop and I used two flat screwdrivers to change the spacers, took less than 5 minutes. The rear spacers are actually easier to change. FWIW I let the bump on the spacers face forward.

My are squeaking bad too, but mine occurs more when I go reverse out of my driveway and then put on brakes and then they do it again with a clanking noise when i first go forward and press the brakes. I hope this fixes it, drives me nuts!

I reported both issues, squeaky leafs and clanking brakes to my dealer at my routine service and was told the clanking brakes are normal and that is how Toyota designed the brakes to allow for some "play" in the shoe as it strikes the rotor. The squeaky leafs goes on despite a dealer installed repair or fix. The issue and Toyota know's it is poor quality steel used and a poor design.
Again, Toyota has forgotten consumers have choices and I have shared my feelings with them a number of times. The squeak has become a signature for Toyota, just like the old "Ford" squeak with the earlier Mustangs.

I will be reporting mine to my dealer next week, need to get oil change so I figure I would tell them about it and see if they actually try to do something about it.

I did this today, just put Lithium grease in there instead of the bike tire. Squeak is 100% gone for now. I'll let you all know if it comes back. Thanks to the OP and the rest of you for your ideas, the squeak was driving me nuckin futz!:D

Buy the "hockey pucks" from your dealer, or use your warranty and have them replaced for free. The home remedies never worked for me, I tried them all. The rubber inserts (bike tubes, bungies, etc.) will work themselves out eventually if there is no mount tab that sits in the holes of the leaf packs. The grease and shit is just a mess and it not the solution. TSB is out on this and the dealers are prepped to fix the problem. I am now working on a "click" noise from my front bumper, calling the 1 800 331 4331 Toyota Experience number and trying to work them on my 90K mile 05'. Love the truck, but this penny annie trivial crap pisses me off

Synthetic oil/lubes used throughout. NGK Iridium Lazer 100K spark plugs. Rear differential breather extension modification. Toyota front skid plate, roof rack, bed mat, chrome exhaust exhaust. Runs like new!
The newest version which "Tunafish76" mentioned is correct. The newest version from Toyota (on their 3rd fix for same problem since 05) to fix the problem is a a $40 4 piece kit which I promise you definitely works.
A lift is the easiest way to replace or get entire truck on jack stands. Just need a few different small to medium pry bars. Mechanic friend had it done in 15-30 (tops) minutes on lift. Good luck. "Do it once, do it right."
    Good luck.

I don't know why anyone would do it any other way. It's the cleanest, easiest, and I'm sure longest lasting method.

Anyone else getting tired of all the little problems that keep popping up on these trucks? First I get the fan motor tick, then rear brake squeek, compass resistor burns out, my cruise control switch pops apart, rear leaf spring squeek, water is coming into my cab under the carpet some how, and now my drivers side door seems to make a lot of noise over any bump, like it's not closed all the way and the rubber is rubbing back and forth. I can't keep up with all these gripes!!!

My best friend had many of the same problems you're having w/his 07 TacomaTRD 4x4. I told him to buy the 100K platinum warranty in the beginning. Being the handy man and owning Toyotas he insisted it was a waste of money. He later told me for the $1,000 dollars more or less; he wished he had purchased it.

These 2nd generation Tacoma's are not built as good as the old ones. I have a05 Tacoma 4x4 TRD Sport LB. It was in the shop a few times during manufacture warranty.

Most Tacoma's have similar problems and you can often find fixes on thef orum. I don't put many miles on my truck so in case you don't know: ***IF YOUHAVE 7OK OR LESS MILES ON YOUR TACOMA YOU CAN PURCHASE UP TO A 5 YEAR/60KPLATINUM EXTENDED TOYOTA FACTORY WARRANTY. (I DID WHEN MY 6 YR 100K WARR RAN OUT) SOUNDS PRICEY BUT I MADE TOYOATA DEALERS COMPETE FOR MY BUSINESS AND OBTAINED THE 2ND WARRANTY FOR $2,400. THAT WILL KEEP MY TRUCK LIKE NEW UNTIL129,985 MILES, WITHOUT ADDITIONAL WORRIES OR OUT OF POCKET EXPENSES. It averages out at $60 a month if you drive 12K per for the next 5 years for me,well worth it; "peace of mind"). You can also sell the warranty backto the the Toyota (prorated). If you decide to sell the vehicle or offer it to the new buyer ONLY AFTER you have made a deal for the vehicle itself. I havedone it before. It is prorated of course and there is a $50 changeover fee but my friend/buyer loved the fact that I had that option. I wish someone could post this in a more open forum/area for others to read because 99.9% of owners don't know this.

Please copy and paste in the appropriate area if you know how and help others that may be interested in this. Note: Within 5 months of purchasing the ext warr my blower motor went. Would have cost me $250 at dealer. O dollars for me w/warranty and always get the zero deductible. So far, I'm breaking even & just getting started. Good luck.
Besides that, I love how the truck runs/handles and the multi use, resale value etc. It is like driving a 5 seater sports car with a 6 foot bed. Love it. Good luck.
I would recomend anyone considering purchasing a new Tacoma just buy the Tundra w/the 4.6 liter. The gas mileage is the same. You'll get it for the same price or less if you know how to negotiate. (you my just have to upgrade the rims if you want alloy).

Guess I know what I am doing next week. Taking my truck in (used toyota certified warranty). It started squeaking like crazy a few weeks ago.
