There isn't really anything that I dislike about a Short Course truck. The scale looks are cool, and the handling is great. The stadium trucks are just faster, and better handling (lower center of gravity) while still being aesthetically pleasing.

I like the big scale looking bodies, but at the same time, I don't because they're easy to break/crack.

I like the SCT platform. I am more of the real/sale look that is why I bought the Honcho over the other crawlers even if the other might perform better.

If I got the SCTE here are the electronics I am thinking of

    Tekin Rx8 esc
    Tekin Pro 4 motor
    Savox servo

Airtronic or Futaba Radio but not sure which one would be best for my crawler and SCT.

If you want a good radio at a great price look at this one, it has the same internals as the top of the line M11x but much cheaper

    Tony,

I was looking at that or the Futaba 3PM-X.

    http://www.amazon.com/Futaba-3PMX-2-4GHz-FASST-R603FF/dp/B002PFNXN4

I have always run Airtronics when I was in the hobby 15 years ago. But I had a Futaba as well and with both I didn't have any issues.

The MX-3X is that a good all around radio even if I do not race? And would it be good for my Axial Honcho?

    Thanks

    Tri

I'm planning on buying one whenever I have a little extra money to spend. The MX-3X would be a great all around radio.

I don't see why it wouldn't be good for the Honcho, all you need is three channels and you are good.

Thanks man. I have been out of the game and the RC is just a outlet for me. I might mess around at the local track once in a while but most will be just bashing around. But I don't like to go cheap on stuff and the SCTE from what I have read is a good basher and also good on the track. Where as Slash is a good basher but not on the track and the SC10 4x4 is purely for the track and is set up very race, a lot of tuning.

I also like to spend my money on quality parts as well

Also there have been plenty of problems with the SC10 4x4

The SCTE is a good platform, if you ever want to race it one day, you can look into the TLR tuning kit for it (it comes with a bunch of new lightweight parts for it)

Here are some good RC sites as well

Thanks man. I ran Losi in the past so there goes my brand loyalty. I have a Mini SCT just to mess around with but bigger is better.

Losi has changed quite a bit over the years, since Gil left and Horizon bought them out. Luckily when TLR (Team Losi Racing) started getting serious it brought back most of the Losi faithful. (Horizon was driving Losi into the ground)

I have heard that. Someone also mentioned that Gil...I am assuming he was the owner of Losi was at the Local Track here in SD and racing something like a Yokohama or something like that...I could not recall but it was weird i guess to see someone with the last name running a different car. I think his son was racing.

You were correct, it is Yokomo, not Kyosho, that Gil was hooked up with.

I think it was mentioned that his son was racing. But that Gil came into the local store for some parts.

This thread is killing my wallet
