I replaced my leaves, coils, struts and shocks and my taco still leans to the left. Every other 95-96 I've seen is the same. Is this normal or is it maybe my canter?

Measure the frame from ground up and then measure the body from ground up. I bet it is the body that needs work.

It's called the infamous 1st gen. Taco lean and it's quite common. Three things that make the Taco lean to the left (driver's side) is 1) battery is located on that side 2) so is the driver and finally 3) and so is the gas tank. All of these things contribute to the Taco lean, it's normal.

why do we call these taco's 1st and 2nd generation? as if there are only 2??? there are several generations of tacos....

Yeah, there are technically more than 2 gens of Tacos. I see them currently as 4 distinct generations: 95.5-97, 98-00, 01-04 and 05+. But the TacomaWorld.com gods only see 2 gens of Tacos.

Looks like I'm putting my hi-lift, pioneer set and jerry cans on the right side.

ok there is only two gens of taco...there were face lifts...but I can put an 04 taco front on my 96 or a 00 door on a 04 or etc.. the motors stayed same...trans stayed...axles...frame.... you can put a 04 reg cab cab on a 96 frame and never know difference..... try putting oh say ANYTHING except your wheels off a 05-07 on a 95.5-04 2 gens ... ...sorry to jack thread...as for lean yeah I see it alot and they should have made a heavier rate spring for drivers side... not only is the weight there but how often is it only the driver not 2-4 people in truck... lot of miles are probably with one person sitting in there...maybe put a V6 coil on your drivers side LOL

lol yeah buddy of mine always used to get me going... like yeah i got a 3rd gen taco...man they are so much nicer blah blah blah he had a 01 extra cab v6 trd....i was like oh whats so much better ( i had 96 extra cab with trd super 3" lift 33's lockright locker front and back) oh man the trd locker is sweet... I'm like yeah mine is locked in 2wd 4lo or 4hi ok....oh man the motor is so much better than the old ones....hmmm ok same v6 only mines charged.....and you paid what like $5000 more for yours??? dont see the great deal.... other than white face gauges..he had me there lol .. I love all tacos... I'm not a big fan of the 2nd gens on the simple fact they are bigger than i would want a taco to be..they are like 1st gen tundra size lol.. but otherwise great truck ..

yeah, they are a little big. in one way that is what i like about t hem, in another way i like older models that were smaller.... but i had a 98 dodge ram, so i like the room in a bigger truck.... like anything else i guess, pros and cons.

Do you still get taco lean on the 3rd generation lifts? and if i got OME 885 coils and put them on TRD stock struts is it going to be a rough ride?
