oh if i do an r154 swap? no..not really..

there are three parts to the tranny. Id only use the middle as id need a new bell housing and i want to keep 4wheel drive so i wouldn't use the back half. The middle would just bolt up to the transfer case.

w58s(the weaker supra tranny) bolt right up to the 5vz actually..bell housing and all..

but i don't know about the r154 yet..i don't want to at all mod the drive line. Not worth it. Want to keep the total investment on this project under 500 bucks...granted i already have parts..so thats not included..

a good street tune will be fine. I won't have to add that much fuel to it. and i know its better to stay rich then lean..

Noooooo..should get a boost in mpg if i keep my foot outa it. Turbos increase efficiency and really..premium isn't that much more per tank anyways.

The price is wrong.... a turbo is a more efficient way to add power but you will not get better gas mileage. think about it... at 5-6 PSI you are essentially adding atmosphere inside of the cylinder more air means more fuel no matter how you slice it. Why do you think the guys are adding the 7th injector.... to prevent a lean condition pinging and detonation all of which will eventually eat your engine alive. if you stay out go the boost you'll get the same mileage maybe a little worse in the boost you'll get 9.
