So my lift finaly came in yesterday. Ordered it on Monday and came to the house Thursday... not too bad for coming all the way from Colorado. Has anyone put one on themselves? Just seems that the instructions lack detail when it comes to the 3 degree shims. Everything else seems like a no brainer.

It is all super easy. Just takes time. But if you have any kind of mechanical ability, you shouldn't have any issues.

What is the size of the window sticker

 

Anybody know any tint shops that offer like a 40% tint? The ones I have dealt with offer 35% and 50%, 35 being too dark (legally) on top of factory glass, 50 being too light and IMO a waste of money.

Recently got pulled over by MSP for illegal tint. 15% at the shop clocked in at 11% on the meter. $70 fine and $20 tint removal later, I'm looking to reapply but would like to keep it legal. Any suggestions in/around the Howard/Carroll/Montgomery county areas would be great!

(ii) In the case of a vehicle registered under § 13-913, § 13-917, or § 13-937 of this article, there is affixed to any window to the immediate right or left of the driver any window tinting materials added after manufacture of the vehicle that do not allow a light transmittance through the window of at least 35%.


§ 13-917. Single unit (two or more axles): Class E (truck) vehicles -- Truck not exceeding 3/4 ton capacity and 7,000 pounds


Notwithstanding § 13-916(b) of this subtitle, for any Class E (truck) vehicle, the annual registration fee is $ 63.75 if:

(1) The manufacturer's rated capacity is 3/4 ton or less; and

(2) The maximum gross vehicle weight is 7,000 pounds or less.


Basically you can have any % tint on the rear passenger and back window of the Tacoma. You have to have 35% on the front driver and passenger windows. You can have a 5in visor of any tint at the top of the front windsheild.
