Love mine! Perfect size. I traded in a Silverado cuz it was too big. Only thing I don't like is the way the fender wells are cut.

After replacing the entire suspension, changing the gearing, buying new bumpers, and swapping in a manual T-case, yeah, I'm pretty happy with it. If I hadn't had the means to fix those things I would have sold it within 6 months. It woulld not have met my needs in stock form. The 4.0 is a great motor and the overall quality of the truck is good. I have the manual tranny which was a bit of a dissapointment. I depend on my truck and use it for hauling, towing, long distance driving, on and offroad use. It really wasn't designed for that. It was designed for urban, run-about, SUV type use. Mostly all the problems were fixable, and I figure there hasn't been a real working truck built since 1979 anyway. Given the alternatives, the Tacoma was the only real choice.

This questions a tuffy because there is not much out there to compare this truck to except the older Tacos and before that just the old Toyota pick up and thats where I have problems with this vehicle. Being maybe one of the older dudes on this site I have owned all of the Toyota trucks minus the Tundra and I can't say all of the changes have been for the better. I am now in an 08 SR5 auto 6 4x4 and it's a nice truck but.....Like everybody says, gas mileage sucks, Toyota can defenitely do better. At first I didn't care for the increase overall truck size compared to the old trucks but Yeah I did buy the crew cab and now I do like the overall size of the truck. It's a great looking truck but looks arent everything in trucks or woemen. When they did the design change last go around they really skimped on the interior of the truck. Head room is bad, seats are way to small for most men. The dash is made with what most be the most easily scratched material they could find. There is little adjustments that can be made with the seat positioning. Stock sound system is cheezy and when I bought my truck they did not even have an auxillary for an MP3 type player device. In my opinion they just skimped on creature comforts that in this day and age should be standard. Mechanically my old 4cyl 80's model Toyota pickup could run circles around this truck. I'd probably still be driving it if it wasnt for the 2 piece seamed bodies that rusted out on all of those old trucks. Don't get me wrong I still really like the Tacoma but the older models didn't have the rattles and squeaks that these newer trucks seem to develope rather quickly. They did have the Taco lean how ever. It just is frustrating because I know that with a few alterations to this vehicle it could be stellar. Some of it's little shit like don't try and sell me a $30,000 vehicle and put crap tires on it. Give me an option ot two and not just the SR5 package. I have high hopes that the next generation could be the truck I drive off in to the sunset.

Sucks driving it in the winter even with traction control off...every time I slide a little bit my brakes lock up and about a million bells and whistles go off. But other then that its awesome.

I am still happy with my Tacoma. As long that gas prices don't shoot up to $1.50(CDN) then I might not be as happy. But in the end you only live once, so enjoy the Taco.

i love my tacoma. however, i have some tranny issues, which bothers me. not to mention, having a second gen, there aren't a whole lot of rear long travel options. whether that is because the truck is too new or if people are unwilling to create a 3/4link system, i don't know.... another thing that i am unhappy with, is i feel like there isn't enough power, but then again, i haven't done any motor work.. and on top of that, when is there ever enough power??? ;) all
in all, i still love my tacoma, and wouldn't trade it for any other truck...

Gotta say that I am really pleased with my new Taco. I previously had a MGM 2009 TRD Sport DC/SB and while it was a kick ass truck, the small things like the radio problems and steering shake took away from my experience. The aesthetic changes on the 2012, the bluetooth, the small improvements in this particular Taco over my 2009.....I'm just stoked and inspired all over again. It's not just a work truck to me now. Really glad I got another Taco.
