    I continue to be asked for internet links. So a short search yielded this, http://www.chrysler300club.com/uniq/allaboutrams/ramtheory.htm . Not a bad description of intake runner harmonics.
    Not to overly negative. But, do you suppose the maker of this intake spacer has done any research? I don't doubt that changing the runner length will move the optimum power band.
    But we have been promised proof. So we shall see.

    For the sake, of my involvement in this experiment, I will have to dyno as well, due to the automatic transmission.

    From the roughly 3k rpm starting point though, there was a small but nice gain made on his 4Runner. He will post up the results later.

    Off topic, the S/C XR made decent numbers as well. ;)

    Im not so sure that really shows anything. In order to get accurate results on a dyno, its best to do 3 runs stock, then do the mod, and do 3 more runs. Ive seen a 3 to 4 hp difference in stock runs. You need to get a baseline average, then do more runs modded, to get a modded average.

    Both are the best of the pulls with out spacer and then with. We took six pulls. I can request powerfab for all of them and show ya.

    I don't understand how you don't see the obvious difference between the two graphs? They are clearly not the same, nor directly on top of one another. o_O

    Honestly, we could have pulled a biased move by posting the worst pre-spacer graph, and the best post-spacer graph. That was not ethical to me though. Especially knowing how much all of the member on here want reliable, accurate data.

    This graph is just as Lucario Runner stated though. The best of both sets of runs.

    However, I am had a strong feeling that we would have these outcomes with the auto. Being that it could only start at 3400ish, otherwise it would down shift and throw off the graph.

    So, when I finish my intake cam gear swap, as well as install my new transmission, I will get dynos done. Starting from as low an rpm that the DynoJet will allow.

    When I get the email from PowerFab of all of Lucario's runs, I will post them. As well, I will post all of mine. I aim to be fair and accurate as possible. I knew there would be people saying that we didn't dyno properly by not having enough runs done as well. But I wanted the info posted as clear as possible, without all sorts of overlapping lines, making it hard to see. Thus the choice for this round's best of the two. :thumbsup: Enjoy. :)

    What actually irritates me the most though, is that there is still the large gap from say1k RPM to 3.4k RPMs. Irritates me a lot actually and a wish my truck was back together already. I have been just as curious about the difference from down there the whole time, but even more so now! Hopefully I can get the dynos done this week. I am not holding my breath though.

    I also would like to add, that i have no idea what happens in the RPM range prior to these graphs which we recently posted, or in the one from a few years ago. I have no idea if power is lost or gain in that part of the RPM range, and just as curious as every one else on that part of the subject. I make no bets one way or the other the other, and am a spectator for that just like everyone else.

    I will say though, that on two different dynos, in different years, starting near the same area, had similar and only similar, results.

    A dyno run on your truck isnt gonna prove anything for the average guy with a stock truck. As soon as you add different cams, that changes the way the power is delivered. A stock 1GR is the best way to see gains. The Dyno above is fine for most folks. Maybe when a stock 1GR with a manual gets one, they can do a test.

    Lol. Nah man. I gave you the wrong impression. I am swapping the vvt intake cam gears, on my current engine which is from a 4Runner, to intake cam gears from a Tacoma. The 4Runner engine's pick-up for the sensor is different from the ones on a Tacoma. To not have a vvt CEL, and for it to run properly I have to swap them out.

    My truck will be effectively stock. "Hot air intake" (lol), everything in/on the engine stock, stock '06 headers, stock '06 y-pipe, stock ECU. Just a new transmission is all.

    Exactly! I know its a different truck, but that is where the most gain is made on the Nissans. 2000-4500rpm Im still working out when we can get in to do dynos here. Were those results top end power? Doesnt seem anywhere near what most spacers achieve down low that I have seen. What RPM were those results from?
