    .
After drilling the holes in those metal bed posts ... did you have to put lock washers and nuts on those bolts (3 bolts each side - behind that metal post).

It looks a lot like the Toyota OEM bed extender and I think that I am going to use the same bed extension.

Any other ideas to share on this installation ...

    Thanks ... :D

Nope... didn't use lock washers. Installation was a breeze and I am the last person to do any sort of work on their car. Just make sure you mark the spots correctly to drill. I almost went with the "older" version but decided to go with this instead. I already got some use out of it today :D

    Things and stuff and such
The brackets mount with screws, not bolts.

Oh, and that "Toyota" bed extender is made by Amp Research. You can find it cheaper than the dealership. I got mine for $150 from 4 wheel parts.

    None (yet), just bought it
Took mine in for what I was sure was the TSB for the exhaust ticking sound and they told me that it was normal...the service dept closed at 4 and they didnt call me to pick it up till 330 or I was going to drive another one. I'll go back and test drive another one on Monday, because this sound that I'm hearing is unacceptable. I've never heard any vehicle make a sound like this.

265/75R16 Revo 2's, URD short shifter, cueball knob, Fog light mod
Bought truck on Friday, today I accomplished (in order):

    1) Ripping off front mud flaps

    2) Cleaned disgusting (really disgusting) engine compartment -- looks almost pretty now

    3) Replaced P/O's mis-matched Uniroyal Laredos (ugh) and Cooper Discoverer H/T (ugh) with Bridgestone Revo 2's in 265/75R16 all the way around (big difference!)

    4) Cleaned gross interior... Meguiar's interior cleaner on all plastics, very light Armor All, canned air to all the cracks, vaccuum, and took a steam cleaner to the seats, which had some gross stains. I got about 60-70% of the stains off the seats -- still drying, will probably make a second pass tomorrow.

    5) V-Leds 48-LED dome light (5K) and radial-firing red map LEDs installed (red doesn't kill the night vision!)

    6) URD sort shifter installed, replace stock shift knob with black cue ball "Ol' Skool" shift knob from sickspeed.com. Similar to the TRD knob, just in black -- didn't want a TRD knob when I didn't have the TRD shifter :)

    7) Independent fog light mod performed (tapped into "green wire" in the fuse box -- nearly gave myself a heart attack when the truck wouldn't start after tapping the wire, only to discover I hadn't plugged the connector back in :))

    8) Three small paint chips Dupli-colored.

That's it for today -- tomorrow there's probably more seat cleaning (I'm determined to get all the stains out), I may experiment with Plasti-Dip on the emblems.

I had copied this piece of info from some post down the road. It might help you or someone else.

I repaired the guy's truck with a Toyota joint part # 04371-04030.I got that part # from a non-Toyota information system,so I ordered one from my local dealer to see if it would work.Dimensionally,it was the same,so it got him back on the road with no more vibration. It may pose a problem to the serious off-roaders because it is not a greaseable joint-I believe it is for the 2wd driveshafts.I don't know how long it will last compared to a greaseable joint since I haven't seen any 2wd's with this kind of mileage yet.

I cleaned up the old joint and put it back together so I could measure it,and then called a local machine shop that specializes in driveshaft fabrication.Given the dimensions(cap=1 1/16" and overall length=3 5/8"),I was told this should match up to a Spicer 1330 series U-joint.The Spicer part # is 5-213 and will have a grease fitting.I hope that someday this helps somebody else to repair rather than replace their driveshaft.

Do you happen to have the part number of the rims? Size too?

If I get those rimes I would do them in red. Wait! Does anyone have Photoshop and can show me what it looks like. The rims being Barcelona Red? Maybe on a Barcelona Tacoma?
