I don't normally post stuff like this - but holy crap (literally).

Long story short..... Monday night I had a bad case of diarrhea an my stomach hurt like hell - like someone was twisting it up. My back has been sore. I haven't eaten or drank much in the last 3 days and now I'm feeling really weak, have a headache, and my stomach & gut still aren't right. I don't feel like eating, yet my stomach hurts like I should eat.

Went to the doctor and they gave me the next 5 days off. Told me I probably have some sort of bacterial issue going on. Have to give them a stool sample (Oh joyous event that will be) and am on the BRAT diet (bananas, rice, apple sauce, toast).

But damn...where did I pick this up from? I feel like such crap!
    ARGH!!!

Luckily, I can make it to the computer and get some TW time in!!

Anyone else have this thing? How long does it take to get back to normal?

food poisoning should include nausea and vomitting. I know this because I had it last year. Ate a chicken (small ckicken) under cooked for lunch. The chicken tasted funny but I ate anyway. That night, I almost became unconscious due to nausea and wanting to vomit feeling (fever and cramp as well). Several trips to the potty that night finally relieve me of the alien in my system and went to work the next day.

GL OP, 3 days is a long time so I hope you get well soon.

For the last 10 days or so i have had a sore throat and my lower back has been really tight. not nerve pain but you know when you are hunched over digging a trench or digging holes or something all day? (i use to do landscaping and construction) thats how it feels. monday i had the runs like crazy. i finally went to the doctor and he gave me antibiotics and muscle relaxers. he also took a urine sample and apparently my urine has more than the usual amount of protein in it which means i'm losing protein. i had to return a second urine sample today to see how my "first evacuation of the day" tests. I feel like something is wrong but i'm not sure.

Like neontrail, sounds like a case of lower GI food poisoning. Where it doesn't hit the stomach and cause vomiting, but instead hits the intestines and causes mad shitting.
Lots of tea with honey. Tea cause water gets boring, and honey because it's easy on the stomach and helps keep your BGL high.

Could be the Norwalk (I think thats how its spelt) virus. It seems to get bad at this time of year. You should start to see improvements over the next couple of days. I had it last year at this time and it lasted for 4 days.

actually that thought had crossed my mind. based on teh fact my back and neck have been hurting, and my throat, ALL on my left side kinda worried me. only the left side of my throat hurt, my neck hurt only when i looked left, and the left side of my back hurt. right side was totally fine. i knew a girl that had similar symptoms and had spinal meningitis, but it was the viral kind so she recovered, but the bacterial kind is fatal. not trying to be dramatic but that thought crossed my mind a week ago. but i decided ignorance is bliss so i got drunk and forgot about it

If you can't look down, then you have issues with meningitis. Had a cousin who died of that. What your describing is more like a stroke or TIA.

great, i guess i had a stroke then (i dont know what TIA is). but who are you to give out medical advice? its not like your work in medicine or anything. plus you're canadian, and your bodies are completely different from ours. if i need advice on how to bandage a broken tentacle i'll let you know :D

actually it usually makes things worse, but it sure is more fun than fixing it
